In the small village of Hvammstangi in Northwestern Iceland, the skies opened up with the most intense contrast from light to dark. The pathway leading down to the lookout point became the natural divide of the scene.
I've never felt such a howling and powerful wind before. I could spread my arms, face the wind, and lean forward as the the strong coastal wind caught my jacket and used it as a sail to balance me - nearly recreating the leaning tower of Pisa.
